New at Free Haven
As Free Haven continues to grow bigger and better each year, we’re needing to function more like a full-blown school. This year at Forest School, parents are asked to volunteer their time serving on committees and helping with events. When you register for classes this year, you’ll be prompted to rank which volunteer roles you’re interested in. Roles will be filled on a first-come-first-appointed basis. Parents who don’t have time to serve the school in a volunteer capacity can opt out with an additional $600 fee.
Volunteer Roles for Parents
Full-Time Forest School 2024-25
This year our full-time school will operate Mondays through Fridays from 8:30AM-3PM. We’re offering Kindergarten through 4th grade, and an after-school program called Treecess. Students will get a full menu of academics, including Reading, Writing, Math, hands-on Science, History and Geography, as well as our popular survival skills course included in their regular learning. Academics will be completed in the morning, leaving the afternoon open for learning through exploration and adventure, the true forest school way! MAP testing will occur 3 times per year, and student evaluations will be completed every quarter. Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled twice per year. We hope to have separate classes for each grade, but grades may be combined based on enrollment.

Treecess After-School

Treetop Tots 2024-25
Treetop Tots is back next fall through spring! A parent and toddler nature playgroup designed for children ages 15 months-3-years-old. Tots will met Wednesdays from 9-11AM. It takes place during the school year in all weather. If your child turns 3 by September, we recommend Family Lab or Forest Preschool instead.
Wed 9-11AM. Full school year: $1,125. Non-refundable deposit: $150.
Forest Preschool 2024-25
Forest Preschool registration will be offered 1-3 days this year. 3-day preschool will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30-11:30AM. 1-2 day enrollment will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-11:30AM. Tuesday and Thursday registration cannot be combined with the 3-day schedule. 3-day registration includes M/W/F. Register for Tuesday and Thursday Separately.
3-Day Forest Preschool
M/W/F 8:30AM-11:30AM. Full school year: $3,820. Non-refundable deposit: $450.

K-5 Forest Explorers 2024-25
K-5 Forest Explorers homeschool group will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9AM-12PM. Enroll 1-4 days per week. Forest Explorers will be split into 3 groups, K-1, 2nd-3rd grade and 4th-5th grade. Groups may be combined based on enrollment. Subjects will alternate each day as students study history on Mondays, science on Tuesdays, history on Thursdays and science on Fridays. Each history and science class will be a unique hands-on study into science and history topics. Subject matter will go deeper with fresh activities in each class. Register for each group and class day separately.
